Haïti à Déguster returns, showcasing Haitian gastronomy and culture

The culinary festival Haïti à Déguster returned Saturday for its summer edition at the NH El Rancho in Pétion-Ville, bringing together culinary professionals, food enthusiasts and the public to celebrate and promote Haitian gastronomy.

The two-day event, running Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20, marks the second edition of the festival this year, following an event held in March. Organizers unveiled the details of the summer edition during a press conference Wednesday at the hotel’s Convention Center.

The festival is designed to showcase Haitian cuisine while providing a platform for chefs, restaurateurs, food entrepreneurs and other professionals in the culinary sector. Organizers have also promoted activities aimed at attracting families and a broader audience throughout the weekend.

On Saturday, however, the festival grounds appeared less crowded than during previous editions. No official attendance figures were seen.

The summer edition continues Sunday, with organizers hoping to attract additional visitors for the second day of the event.

With its return to El Rancho, Haïti à Déguster is seeking to keep Haitian cuisine in the spotlight while creating a space for culinary professionals to connect with the public and promote local gastronomic talent.
