Haiti’s U-14 Boys crowned Caribbean champions after a 4-0 victory over Jamaica

Haiti’s under-14 boys national team routed Jamaica 4-0 on Sunday to capture the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Under-14 Boys Challenge Series title, closing out an unbeaten run through the tournament at Cap Cana Sports City.

Jodley Sheeckensley Delmas opened the scoring in the 28th minute, and Wensley Dumorne put the result out of reach with goals in the 32nd and 46th minutes. Ronelson “Pelé” Janvier capped the win in the 58th minute, sending the young Grenadiers home with the trophy.

The Haitian Football Federation hailed the result as another Challenge Series crown for the program, framing the run as proof that today’s work on the field can turn into tomorrow’s dreams for the young players.

Haiti punched its ticket to the final with a 6-1 semifinal rout of host Dominican Republic on Friday, a match the young Grenadiers led from the opening minute after a quick strike from Jerry Petit-Homme. Dumorne and Janvier both scored in that game as well, alongside Jodley Delmas and Edysson Paul Jean.

Jamaica head coach Vassell Reynolds had singled out Haiti as the team to beat in the competition, calling the Grenadiers technically and physically strong heading into Sunday’s final.

Haiti’s title run began in the group stage, where the Grenadiers beat French Guiana and downed Trinidad and Tobago 4-1, with Petit-Homme and Dumorne again among the scorers, before topping Group B.
