Haitian talent Lovend’s Delinois joins Inter Miami first team
Inter Miami CF announced Saturday that it has signed Haitian attacker Lovend’s Delinois to a first-team contract, promoting him from Inter Miami CF II, the club’s MLS NEXT Pro affiliate. The 21-year-old forward, born October 5, 2004, in Haiti, put pen to paper on a deal that runs through the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with club options extending as far as the 2029-30 campaign.

A Rise Built in Miami’s Backyard
Delinois’s story is not one of a scout spotting him abroad and flying him in. He joined Inter Miami’s system out of Island United FC, a local South Florida academy, ahead of the 2024-25 season. He first featured for the club’s UPSL side before earning a promotion to Inter Miami CF II in 2025.
His professional debut came in August 2024, when he entered as a second-half substitute in a 5-1 win over Chattanooga. From there, he kept climbing. Through the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, he pushed his way into first-team conversations, and by this summer, he was training and traveling with the senior squad.
That work paid off during the 2026 Leagues Cup, where Delinois was included on Inter Miami’s roster and started in the club’s Phase One matches against CF Monterrey and Club León, meaningful minutes against continental opposition that made his eventual promotion feel less like a gamble and more like a formality.
Joining a Club Chasing History
Delinois arrives on a first team built around Lionel Messi and in the thick of an Eastern Conference title race. Miami entered the weekend unbeaten in the regular season since May 2, sharing the league lead with 45 goals scored, with Messi contributing 12 goals and eight assists in just 15 appearances. For a young attacker developed almost entirely inside the club’s own academy system, there is hardly a bigger stage to step into.
For Haiti, the signing adds one more name to a growing list of players of Haitian descent making their mark in North American soccer at a moment when the country’s football community has plenty to celebrate, from the senior national team’s ongoing campaigns to Haiti’s U-17 squad preparing for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar later this year.
